Yorkshire’s H2B Lifestyle Magazine Rebrands to Esteem

Tapping away at The Old Paint Works, here in Leeds, on Burley Road, was the former H2B magazine team. A team that filled the blank pages of the north’s premier lifestyle magazine. A magazine that 17 years down the line could call itself the region’s largest free lifestyle publication.

Despite its success, the bodies behind the H2B mag decided that it was time for a change. A new look, a new feel, revamped content and a revamped name. Esteem.

So, this is exactly what happened, and last week I had the pleasure of attending, to find out more about the rebrand. And with the launch party being just around the corner from where we live, it would have been a shame to not see what the team have up their sleeve for the rebrand.

The launch

Greeted with a fun card game which decided how many drinks you had on the house, and charity raffle tickets (buying a strip was completely necessary!), Bar 166 was buzzing with friends, family, locals and bloggers all excited for the magazines big reveal.esteem9esteem3Cosy and intimate, ‘The After Hours Quintet’ did a marvellous job of entertaining and energising, with jazz, swing and jive. Hunger and thirst was kept at bay with canapés and Prosecco, and it was a lovely Monday evening event to spend away from the couch, and offered the perfect occasion to also catch up with Lauren and Tina.

Shortly after, Neil Saville, founder of the magazine, gave his speech, and explained the need for the rebrand, investments made, and the anticipated announcement of what the new H2B will be become.esteem2esteemmag Over the 17-year span of the H2B Magazine, it became the North’s largest free lifestyle publication, distributing 60,000 copies each quarter. Amazing.

With the team feeling the magazine needing a fresher look, plus an emerging copy-cat of the name, £100K was invested into the rebrand of the new Esteem magazine, guaranteeing a wider circulation of the magazine to reach even more eyes.

So, for those of you who are already aware of the previous mag, Esteem will now bring a new look and vibe, promising to refocus and realign their content. Adverts will be become minimalistic, with less sexually charged content, and most importantly, writing less monetised features.esteem6All in all, Esteem will be focusing on innovative content, that is engaging and genuine, with a website that will be updated daily on all the essential happenings across Yorkshire.

The magazine has a stunning front cover, with a Phoenix to symbolise the journey of the rebrand. The content looks sleek and chic, and is packed with features on local events and restaurants. esteem8 esteem10 If you haven’t had a chance to see a copy of the Esteem magazine, I highly recommend venturing out to your local shops and browsing store entrances or tables.

It’s well worth a read for all things local, plus to just see how marvellous the new look really is.esteem11Lots of love,

      Hi Sarah

The magazine is distributed freely across several locations around Yorkshire. You’d be best of getting in touch directly with Esteem (esteempublications.co.uk/contact-us) to see how you can get a copy 🙂

And I really love a good brew. If I'm not busy writing, I'll either be eating, sipping a cocktail, hiking or convincing my boyfriend we need another cat.
