A few months back I mentioned having received a meat-free care package from the guys over at More Than Meat. One thing you may have noticed from my recipes is that I love quick and easy meals, purely because I get a serious case of hangry, and this is exactly why I enjoy cooking with these frozen goodies.
What I’ve also started to try doing more of is including raw vegetables into my meals and two of the easiest to include are carrots and courgettes. Sooo, when it comes to adding raw veggies into meals, what better way to do this than spiralized goodness, which in my eyes brings the perfect combination of hot and cold, soft and crunchy into meals.
I’m also a proud owner of my mini herb garden that sits on my kitchen window. So far it’s only small duo of a basil and mint plant but one that has been going strong for just over half a year proving to be the perfect extra in a gin and tonic and garnish for a meal. Basil on any savoury meal is pretty much amazing.Basil on pizza = yum, basil on spaghetti = amazing, basil on salads = refreshing, basil on tomatoes = wow! You get the idea and my love for it.
When it comes to sharing recipes, I’ve noticed a pattern of how they usually tend to be vegetarian focused. Although I eat meat, I love cooking with and eating meat alternatives for three very particular reasons:
1) I’m always, always, ALWAYS the one who ends up with gristle in the meat. And it’s awful. It’s become a joke with Nathan and friends at work, but it’s a very horrible thing to come across when eating.
2) It’s tasty and healthy!
3) It adds more variation to my diet and I looooove trying out different foods.
