New to Leeds – Wok to Walk

Located on Bond Street, one of Leeds newest food ventures is Wok to Walk. Their 14th UK venue, brings the chain here to our city centre. Having started back in 2004 in Amsterdam, the business concept came to life after finding food-spiration from a round trip of Asia.

Since their first opening, 15 years ago, there are almost 100 restaurants around the globe.Having enjoyed quick, fresh and tasty food, Wok to Walk has brought back the tastes of Asia, serving up their interpretation to our corner of the world.

Here in Leeds, the large shopfront window is the perfect viewing platform to watch the chef’s wok away. Time it right, and you’ll be able to enjoy the flame spectacle as the food is cooked to order. The seating area inside fits a comfortable 30, all the whilst dozens of brilliant smells pack the room.Their menu is simple and in four steps, have a complete dish. A base is chosen, followed by various favourites, a sauce to combine all ingredients and toppings to finish off.

From different noodles, to rice, range of meats, seasonal vegetables, tofu and nuts, the selection is stealthy.

My chosen combo consisted of egg noodles, katsu chicken, shitake mushrooms, prawns and cashew nuts. I chose the Bangkok sauce, and although nice, was possibly a little too subtle for my combination. The final topper was fried onions. All alongside this, we had homemade lemonade which was extremely refreshing and tasty.

Price wise, their menu is reasonable, that dependent on how many options you chose. My selection including a drink came to approximately £12.

Quality was brilliant, taste spot on and in terms of fulfillment it well and truly hit the mark.

Have you been before?

PS. I was invited to come and test their menu in return for a review.

And I really love a good brew. If I'm not busy writing, I'll either be eating, sipping a cocktail, hiking or convincing my boyfriend we need another cat.
