Although I’ve only been blogging for a few month now, the end of my blogging year for 2015 has been absolutely brilliant. When I look back at these past several months, I’ve had so much fun sharing the things I have been up to and been able to share with you all.
One of my highlights was the La Redoute Blogger Christmas Party, organised by Laura who also blogs over at A Forte For Fashion, and it was a brilliant way to finish the year. The event was held at Lambert’s Yard, a cosy city centre location, and one that was perfect for a Yorkshire blogger get together.
On arrival, there were some lovely Bellini’s waiting to be drunk and a whole lot of beautiful clothes hung on the rails. The garments were gorgeous, some sewn with fine lace around the neck line, others covered with sparkling sequins or interesting textures.
One dress that particularly that caught my eye was a blue long-sleeved velvet dress that had a mesh section at the back of the dress. For the event, La Redoute offered each blogger a garment of their choice from the rails, and as the blue dress appealed to me so much, I asked for this. As my size wasn’t available for this dress, nor the other products, it was a guessing game whether to opt for a size 6/8, as every company really varies.
Kindly, La Redoute arranged for the gift to be sent home to me and within a week the gorgeous dress arrived in a size 8. Although it’s a tad too big, I’ve decided to sass the dress up with a black ribbon belt to give myself a visible waist (images to follow!)
At the event, a photographer was also at hand taking images for the party’s Look Book. I teamed up with Dash from Mode Lily who I met for the first time and essentially had my first ever photoshoot, woohoo! Saying that, I think a realistic New Year’s Resolution is to learn how to feel and pose comfortably in front of a camera!
After a good few hours of admiring clothes, sipping cocktails and having a natter with other Northern bloggers, I made my way home to enjoy the contents of the gift bag graciously accepted by the bloggers on their way out from the La Redoute team.
It was a perfect way to finish off the year, and especially as I’m new to blogging, it was a fantastic (although slightly daunting) way of meeting other bloggers from Leeds for the first time and getting to know them better.
Thanks for checking in, and if you’re in need of some retail therapy, I can really recommend you pay La Redoute a visit, and I’m sure you won’t be disappointed. After this event, I guiltily hold my hand up to say I’ve spent far too much on this site already possible for one spree considering I don’t really need any more clothes (but who doesn’t need more clothes?), and found items perfect for work, leisure and things my mum would love too… not to mention how adorable their accessories are.
